In recent discussions, the issue of Art being a part of the curriculum has become increasingly debated. A group of people believes that including art classes to the curriculum can be beneficial for children, while the other group criticizes that the main focus of students should be directed to the core subjects.
One argument in favor of Art is that it can make a significant influence on children as it develops the creativity. Art is not only about painting or drawing but it also requires many ideas to implement. Brainstorming these ideas requires much deep thinking which is directly helping children to boost their creativity. According to researchers Pablo Picasso (a Spanish artist and a great well-known person) was considered one of the greatest painters and sculptors in the masterpieces, as it makes the person think about it. His great ideas in his mind lead to his artistic career.
On the other hand, some individuals are against the idea of Art being a part of the curriculum. They believe that the time spent on an Art project can be beneficial to focus on academic skills such as Math, Science, Chemistry, Physics as these subjects are implemented in every futuristic project related to technology.
In my opinion, the main goal of children should be related to academic studies, as these skills are prominent in every period of the time. For instance, Albert Einstein’s theory of General Relativity lead to tons of projects which saved human beings. The reason why Art is considered less significant is that it doesn’t have a big role then on human lives, unlike academic subjects. It’s only about paintings, which possess people but do not save them from potential risks coming from natural hazards, such as meteoroids. Scientists who are specialized in academic skills can use their academic knowledge to save the planet from hazardous dangers.
In conclusion, Art can be both valued. Art can be beneficial for children as it improves the way of logical thinking and creativity. However, academic subjects are considered the crucial ones as the future is only based on them. Some people consider art not dominant as they are the structures voices of the future. I personally believe that Art should not be the part of the curriculum.
