In this era, the modernisation environment is taken as a major problem. Some people argue that today’s environmental problems are global issues and should be managed by the authorities, while others believe that everyone should help to solve this problem. In this essay, I will examine both sides and give my opinion.
Many people argue that it’s government duty to deal with environmental problems because they have the power to establish rules and regulations. Governments implement different rules and regulations that limit the pollutants to be released into the environment. The government can punish the guilty who harm the environment. Moreover, the government can create awareness among the general population. For example, authorities can educate people by launching different kinds of programs to give information about the release of greenhouse gases due to the use of personal cars so that they can use local buses or trains instead of owning personal cars. However, I think that it’s not government duty to do so because they have other concerning topics to be solved, like health education, etc.
It’s an individual duty to overcome this problem by using renewable sources of energy and reusing the product. First, using fossil fuels for transportation releases a vast amount of gases into the environment. while switching to renewable sources of energy, like wind, energy, and solar energy, does not emit harmful gases. For instance, we can use electrical vehicles, which reduces the use of fuel and the release of greenhouse gases into the sky. Moreover, people should reuse the product so that non-biodegradable waste does not stay in the environment forever. I totally believe that it’s in individual duty to manage their own environment because they are the ones to harm it.
To conclude, it’s not government duty to handle such a problem because they have other things to deal with, and individuals can overcome this problem by reusing the products and transitioning to renewable sources of energy.
