In the last few decades, the way to educate students has come in all shapes and sizes. As a result, while some people assert that discipline is the best solution to instruct students to become good citizens, it is perceived as inappropriate by others; therefore, another way of educating has been proposed . This essay examines both of these views before justifying my approval of alternative teaching methods for being effective solutions for children today.
First, discipline has its own pros which is a harsh deterrent. To be more specific, pupils will feel the severe repercussions of their irrelevant behaviors towards their instructors; potentially preventing students from committing any actions that are against the rules. A typical case in point is the absence from school, which is a student’s penalty for violating school rules. The lack of attendance of lectures may lead to the ignorance of that student; hence, they cannot catch up with their classmates.
Nevertheless, despite the merits of discipline, I firmly advocate that there are still many effective ways of teaching, especially community services. Students who violated the rules can experience the difficulty of doing conventional traitors’ working allocation, specifically. As a result, students can have asset expertises through community services. Take, for instance, cleaning the public toilet. Students can realize the importance of school’s rules when cleaning the toilets; moreover, they can grasp the ability to foresee the consequences and make a wise decision effectively.
To summarize, I firmly believe that there are still many more effective teaching methods such as community services apart from discipline. Community services are not only beneficial but also appropriate to students’ comprehension. Rather than discipline, we had better let community service become more pervasive and simultaneously, heightening public’s awareness about community services are also crucial for the betterment of the educational environment.
