Some people point out that employers should emphasis on personal qualities rather than academic successes. I strongly disagree with that perspective and believe that academic credentials shows experience and job-related knowledge.
Diploma or internship certificates shows competence and knowledge about specific field . This credentials guarantee employees ability and problem-solving skills which in future will provide numerous benefits in working process and furthermore means participation in exam sessions , assignments or courseworks. For instance, employers prefer IT specialists with academic diploma as this shows employee’s competence and knowledge.
On the other hand, employing someone based on personal qualities may become not rational. In long-term perspective it will lead to huge disparities in capabilities and experience between co-workers . Manners and characters are very substantial aspect but still it doesn’t show ability and problem solving skills . For example, in software development group projects, equal contribution in project is essential and someone struggles with assignment will cause overworking hours and extra hours on other project participants.
In conclusion, academic credentials should be considered primarily as this ensures ability and experience. Subsequently, checking employers personal qualities, ability working with team and stress resistance
