In modern society, environment protection has become a subject of intense debate. Some people assert that individuals have to preserve the environment, while many others argue that government must effort to protecting the environment. In this essay, I will discuss both views and provide my opinion.
On the one hand, there are some reasons to support the duty of individuals. The main reason for believing this is that small actions can make big differences. For example, recycling is the best actions for protecting the environment. We can reduce air pollution by recycling and save energy. In addition, changing daily habits such as supporting eco-friendly products can prevent a large amount of spending resources. People can use public transportation instead of personal vehicles. It prevents to exhaust harmful gases. Therefore, this view is persuasive.
On the other hand, I believe that government should take responsibility for environment. The reason behind this is that laws and regulation are more effective than one’s small effort. This means that people have to follow regulation of governments. For instance, nations can enforce strict laws on factories and vehicles that cause air and water pollution. Additionally, the government can build infrastructures such as public transport and invest on a large scale for constructing infra systems. For this reason, the effort of government is more important.
In conclusion, although responsibility of individuals has some positive points, I firmly believe that the duty of government is more convincing. The importance of environment cannot be underestimated in our interconnected world.
