Few individuals believe that the migration of big firms and organizations from huge town centers to local zones would be beneficial. I believe that its advantages outweigh its disadvantages, which I will explain in upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with the demerits, first and foremost, industries will have a lack of resources for production. To elaborate, most companies depend upon city resources such as transportation, skilled workers, and electricity. Thus, moving industries to vacant zones can lead to a loss in productivity, and thus the economy could be affected.
Shifting towards the merits of this notion, the unemployment rate will decrease, and people with hidden skills can get opportunities to work and show their abilities. To explain this, most individuals in rural areas who are unemployed but are hardworking and talented can get chances to work and hence can eradicate their poverty. For instance, a survey conducted by employment organizations in India in 2022, which revealed that 80% of highly qualified individuals in local areas were unemployed due to a lack of opportunities in these areas. Thus, moving large companies to regional areas can affect the economy in a positive way by creating employment and enhancing the hidden talent of local people.
Further strengthening my viewpoint on advantages, it will help to reduce traffic congestion, crowdedness, and pollution in urban centers. To explicate this, roads will be free from traffic jams, and there will be less crowd in cities if industries moved out to regional areas. The rate of noise and air pollution will also be lower due to this. For example, a headline in a famous newspaper, The Tribune, in India in 2022, which showcased that pollution in city Gurgaon had been decreased by 70% due to replacement of industries with regional areas. As a result, cities will have numerous advantages from moving big companies to regional areas.
In conclusion, although placing large firms in regional areas rather than in urban centers leads to a degradation in skilled workers and the economy of cities, yet urban areas will have many benefits such as a reduction in traffic, pollution, and moreover, create employment opportunities in regional areas.
