There is an ongoing debate about whether computers should replace libraries. Some individuals argue that libraries are a waste of money and the funds should be invested in technology instead, whereas others contend that libraries are still in great demand. Although both views are reasonable, I strongly advocate for the latter opinion since libraries are the place where people can work in silence.
First and foremost, computers have become extremely convenient. It has become obvious that digital technology can provide and process needed information rapidly than that of book. For example, whilst human beings spend a huge amount of time on an attempt to find a certain sort of information in a book, it can be done in seconds by advanced technology. In fact, AI development made computers even more well-known due to its comprehensive knowledge that involves every field of science with a clear explanation. Therefore, because people can perceive information easily and observe information quickly from AI, they tend to use it over books. As a result, people tend to believe that the benefits of digital technology outperform those of books, leading to greater demand for computers.
Nevertheless, libraries still in great demand in numerous countries. These days, hardly can human beings find a quiet place for studying without distractions. A case in point is that pupils live in large families with children who cause noise and distract teenagers from their education, leading to negative emotions and burnouts. In fact, it poses a significant challenge to a student to expand their academic knowledge. This is mainly because of either an inability to control their siblings or an inability to escape from their homes to a quieter place. Hence, libraries are the main solution to such issues. They can go to libraries that are near to them and easily concentrate on their own studies. Thus, making libraries crucial in educational purposes.
In conclusion, although it is believed that more computers should come at the expense of libraries, I completely disagree with that, since a multitude of students depend on such places owing to the circumstances in their homes. In addition, authorities should keep allocating resources to the development of libraries.
