A growing number of individuals express concern about whether the responsibility for people’s well-being belongs to their own or the authorities. From my perspective, I believe that both of them have pros and cons, none more vital than the one, and the essay mentioned below will clarify my point of view.
On the one hand, there is no denying that the well-being of citizens is considered the responsibility of the Government. It is clear to see that with the power of the head of a country, the national authority can give a hand in maintaining the well-being of their residents thanks to the reforms related to healthy people. For example, just only the Government can carry out a series of reforms related environment like as “green tax”, industrial tax, and so on to improve the environment and be good for their citizens’ health. Besides that, when a resident with good well-being can have enough energy to contribute their labor and brainpower to their nation that is considered a potential development for the country in terms of economic, prosperity, well-being, and so on.
Even though there are several reasons highlighted above, I am convinced that the citizen’s health should be their responsibility. Undoubtedly, people comprehend their bodies the best and what is the most suitable for their own health, which is the reason why they should be responsible for taking care of themselves. One case in this point is that the Government cannot totally cover its citizens anytime or anywhere, so people have to observe themselves on their own without relying on others. Last but not least, it is really difficult for the Government to be concerned about so many issues with a limited budget. The authority has various prioritized tasks must be demonstrated such as developing nation’s prosperity, improving public facilities, reducing the poverty rate, and so on. With the “poor budget” of the nation, how to ensure the quality of each person’s well-being becomes impossible.
In conclusion, the responsibility for people’s health is a controversial issue and it should belong to the people, in my perspective due to several compelling reasons mentioned above.
