There is a school of thought that hold that government should has responsibility of public health. Some other people believe that each person is responsible for their own health. While the former is reasonable in a few cases, from my perspective, there are more significant reasons for the latter.
On the one hand, governors undertake an essential commitment about health among community. They play an important role in protecting public health, and controlling diseases’ spread, which are beyond the ability of individuals. For example, during COVID pandemic, many areas in the world had released policy that limited transports and movements between regions in order to prevent the disease from spreading. In addition, rulers have wide impact on people’s awareness of healthcare problems. That because they have authority to propagating widely at the society. For instance, if there was an epidemic was happening, governmental news may easily alerted everyone about that. As a result, majority could be aware of the issues and then the disease would be under countrol.
On the other hand, main requirement of improving general health is the action of each individual. If each person paid attention to stay healthy, any health problem would be addressed in large scale. That is because the community is contributed by individuals. As a case in point, there are no legislation of compulsory hands washing, so that each ones must have to do that on their own. Actually, when washing hands first be demonstrated to be effective in preventing numerous diseases, everybody did it themselves and eventually the frequency of infection in public was significantly decreased.
In summary, government play an integral role in managing pandemic emergence in large scale, while individuals are responsible to their own health in order that the positive influence could accumulate to be considerable, which i think is more significant.
