Some people believe that school should prioritise students learning how to succeed in the workplace, while others believe that academics should be the focus for students. Although learning how to succeed in the workplace is a good thing for students to help them once they graduate, I believe that academics are essential for students to be knowledgeable and intelligent.
Schools can be considered as a place for students to learn to be successful in the workplace because they learn how to work together in a team with their friends. Moreover, students can learn how to communicate properly with each other as an essential skill, for example once they enter the work environment they should maintain their relationship with their colleagues.
However, I believe that academic knowledge could help them better to achieve their dream job and improve their own ability and quality as a human. It is because they know what they do and what they work for. For example, by focusing on the core subjects like math, science or language students can learn to solve a problem and have critical thinking as the soft skill that they should have once they start to work.
In conclusion, although teaching them how to be a great employee in the workplace, I believe that focusing on academics has a bigger impact on determining their achievement in the future.
