In resent years the issue of school subjects has become increasingly controversial. Some people believe that academic subjects build critical thinking and foundational knowledge, while others argue that practical skills prepare students for real-life challenges. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument before I give my own opinion.
One of the main reasons why some individuals support academic subjects for children is that , studying mathematics helps students develop logical reasoning, which is useful in various careers, not only science. For example, academic subjects prepare students higher education and professional careers. Moreover, subjects such as physics ,chemistry , and literature are essential for university entrance exams and degrees in medicine, engineering , or a law.
On the other hand , those who argue against practical skills believe that, learning how to manage finances or cook are life skills that everyone needs, but are often not taught in traditional academis programs. They condent that , not all students go to university – some need skills for immediate employment. Additionally, vocational training like mechanics can help them to find a job right after school.
In conclusion ,while both sides of the argument have valid points, I firmly believe that schools should balance both academic subjects and practical skills. While academis knowledge is crucial for intellectual development and future studies , also practical skills are necessary for independence, pleasure, and and everyday life.
