Band 5+: Some people think that social networking sites have a huge negative impact on both individuals and society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s modern society, humans have invented a system of high-technology devices and then created a lot of social networking sites. However, there are many huge negative impacts on both individuals and society. From my perspective, I agree with the extent to which it is proven that a large amount of negative impact has affected human society in recent years.

First and foremost, with the enhancement of internet websites, most people have become addicted to the internet due to the entertainment it brings to their otherwise boring lives. For example, some websites are created for gaming services or adult videos, which is extremely detrimental to a society that should aspire to be better than its previous iteration. Moreover, games are the primary function of the internet that can get people addicted to social media all day and turn them into introverted individuals. Paradoxically, adult videos may be more attractive to an individual than games if they encounter them once or twice a week.

Furthermore, the existence of unhealthy websites can have a negative impact on the younger generation. An illustrative example is when youngsters access unknown or harmful websites, which can immediately lead to detrimental consequences such as negative mental effects and a lack of autonomy. Therefore, the absence of reputable websites in today’s world can contribute to unhealthy growth. Additionally, being exposed to dangerous or obscure social media platforms like the deep web can lead to societal corruption and the potential engagement in illegal activities.

In this day and age, modern social networking websites are not actually all bad. They also have good benefits. Besides, there are still a lot of bad websites that are not welcome for the youngster. Recently, many kinds of good websites have been created for study services, so society will not have to worry about the amount of illegal or negative social networking sites that exist and make society bad.
