For prosperity of humanity and society itself specific areas of knowledge and science are considered to be more essential than others, as business over history for some individuals. Although I disagree that business would be more beneficial for the social state than history studies, due to its key functions in the lives of people.
History holds all knowledge about humanity and key events that affected the current events, serving as the memory and identity builder for all people. Strong identity allows people to know their origins and not forget important moments in the lives of their ancestors. Lack of knowledge about the past can have negative circumstances in future. For example, wars were the main attributes of the past, where geography of the countries had been constantly changing. But in the current days countries can negotiate with parties and reassemble their geographical borders, which were in their belongings in the past by providing necessary historical proofs. This diplomatic arrangement helps to reduce the conflict among countries and build strong relationships.
Conversely, business is based on strategies and directed to commercial or monetary success. This money-based approach may hold importance for a substantial number of individuals but do not possess any value in a long term run for general humanity. For example, it may lead to identity loss and only financially directed relations. Hence it is vital to know the history before solely studying the business.
