At present, there is an ongoing debate among people regarding whether juveniles should be encouraged to gain work experience or travel to different destinations after completing high school and before starting tertiary education. I completely agree with this view, and I strongly believe that young people should be encouraged to travel or work after high school. This essay will discuss the reasons behind my perspective.
To begin with, travelling to diverse destinations is highly beneficial for school-leavers. When they visit new countries or tourist spots, they can explore a myriad of cultures, traditions and lifestyles. This first-hand experience broadens their minds. As a result, it enhances their intellectual development and is highly worthwhile for their future education and productivity. In addition, taking time to travel effectively reduces mental stress and fatigue, making them feel relaxed and helping them refresh their minds. Therefore, they can focus more efficiently on their future higher education.
Moreover, gaining work experience before beginning tertiary education is crucial for young graduates. Taking time to learn practical skills such as graphic design, web development, programming, or digital marketing is valuable for them. When they learn these practical skills, they can earn money and acquire financial independence. For instance, many students learn graphic design or programming during a gap year and later use these skills to earn a part-time income while studying at university.
In conclusion, all school graduates should travel and acquire practical skills after graduating from high school, for their personal enhancement and intellectual growth. If they do so, it will undoubtedly play a vital role in their future higher education.
