In recent years, people have different views about whether schoolchildren should wear uniform or not. While some people argue against wearing uniforms at schools for various reasons, I side with those who consider them an obligation.
There are some reasons why people may be opposed to wearing school uniforms. One reason is related to low income families. By this, I mean that, in some cases families struggling with poverty may find it difficult to provide uniforms for their children. In this case, for them it is the best option to wear what they have. Another point worth mentioning is lack of choice of dress codes. This is because many schools around the world have just one or two types of uniform, which might be problem for a student who wants to express himself by wearing colorful clothes.
Despite these concerns, I would argue that the benefits of wearing school uniforms are more significant in comparison. First and foremost, uniforms will prevent bullying. This is due to that some miss behaved students might discriminate others by their clothing and these students might unconsciously develop childhood trauma, which might cause their academic performance and would be a problem for their further life. Moreover, if all schools around the world would permit students wear what they want it may cause some mental problems. This can be explained by the fact that most students are already overwhelmed by their school tasks and homework. Consequently, it might be problem for them to choose what they should wear and it may cause some mental issues such as anxiety.
In conclusion, I do acknowledge the valid concern of free choice what wearing at school, but i remain convinced that wearing uniforms should be obligation for students.
