In contemporary society, people are faced with car accidents more often than before. I completely agree that to tackle this problem, the government should introduce driving tests for drivers every year.
There are several reasons why drivers should take the test every year to keep their driving license. Firstly, people do not want to study for a driving license, and they buy it against the law with money; after that, the number of traffic accidents increases. Because if people do not study for a driving license properly, they will not know how they can act on traffic roads and how to understand road signs, because knowing how to drive a car does not mean knowing how to act, so this can be the cause of many accidents. If they take the test every year, they have to learn driving rules, and they acknowledge all road principles. Secondly, some people do not want to follow the rules, and they prefer high speed over safety. Some people see the road as a racetrack, even on city roads, so this is one of the main causes of accidents. If they study more for a license, they know how essential safety is, more than adrenaline.
I believe that the government should introduce stricter punishment for driving as breaking the law. Because if they do it this way, drivers will consider deeply after speeding or doing something illegal. The most noticeable thing about managing a vehicle is not only a single person’s safety but also the safety of all participants who drive on that road. If they take an exam every year, they learn, and their perspective about road safety arises. Moreover, the government should take away their driving license as a punishment if they fail an exam.
To sum up, the number of road accidents is increasing because of a shortage of driving knowledge and not following driving principles, so I believe that a better way of reducing this is taking an exam among drivers per year, and it is preferable to introduce severe punishment for breaking the law.
