It is widely argued that the optimal way to reduce road accidents is to heighten the age requirements for the driving. From my perspective, I second this narrative because this move will not only reduce roadside accidents but also the congestion on the main thoroughfares.
One compelling argument in favor of increasing the minimum legal age is the safety insurance of drivers. The underage drivers operate their vehicle recklessly and do not heed to the traffic rules and regulations which could have many dangerous consequences for their fellow drivers. By increasing minimum age cutoff and adapting other stringent measures, the rate of car collisions can be reduced significantly. For Instance, by increasing legit driving age from 16 to 18, Japan has seen an 18 percent decline in the occurrence of road accidents.
Moreover, due to the high number of cars on the road, average time spent on the commuting increases. As cars become sluggish due to more and more drivers, people often reach their workplaces late. This leads to a delay in the starting of an official business and a widespread frustration in the general public. As a remedy, curtailing transport on the roads through increasing minimum legal age is the best way to counter this problem. Furthermore, the health of thoroughfares can be recuperated through reduced traffic due to the limited number of imprudent drivers.
In conclusion, it is suggested that to tackle the issue of the unsafe driving, authorities should increase the entry age to drive on roads. Personally, I am think that the measure is effective because it will not only decrease road accidents but also reduce congestion on the roads.
