In this modern era, the number of transportation modes has increased. A lot of people use cars or motorcycles to move from one place to another. However, some people believe that the government should raise the minimum legal age for driving and riding. I mostly agree with this statement.
First, increasing the minimum legal age will reduce the number of drivers and riders. As a result, it will lower the number of vehicles on the street, hence reducing the possibility of congestion. This will help people be more punctual when going to work since traffic jams will be less frequent. This could directly impact corporate productivity and may improve the economy.
Secondly, juveniles are mentally immature. Many psychological studies suggest that adolescents have unstable mental capacity, which can lead to reckless behavior on the street. This might cause traffic accidents that can be dangerous for both the driver and others. For example, many young people ride their motorcycles at high speed without wearing helmets. This behavior is risky for themselves and for other people.
However, some people believe that there are other ways to solve this problem. One argument is that age and driving behavior are not significantly related. From my perspective, when planning for risk management, all small factors should be considered. Although these statements may not seem significant, raising the driving age could still reduce risks.
In conclusion, increasing the minimum legal age will benefit society. Juveniles are not yet responsible enough to drive safely.
