In this modern era, transportation modes have become ubiquitous. Many people use cars or motorcycles to move from one place to another. However, some people believe that the government should raise the minimum legal age for driving and riding. I mostly agree with this statement.
First, increasing the minimum legal age will reduce the number of drivers and riders. Consequently, it will reduce the number of vehicles on the street, hence lowering the possibility of congestion. This will help people become more punctual when attending the workplace since traffic jams will be lower. Having this situation might directly impact the corporate productivity and might improve the economy.
Secondly, juveniles are mentally immature. Numerous psychological studies indicate that adolescents have unstable mental capacity, as a result, they might behave recklessly on the street. Subsequently, it might cause traffic accidents that can be dangerous for people using the streets. For example, a lot of young people ride their motorcycles at high speed without using helmets, causing dangers for themselves or other people.
However, some people believe that there are other ways to overcome this problem. One of them mentions that age and driving behavior are not related. Nevertheless, from my point of view, when planning about risk management, people should take every small factor into consideration. These statements might not impact significantly, but we can reduce the stake by implementing the solutions.
In conclusion, increasing the minimum legal age will be beneficial for society. Juveniles are still not responsible enough to operate vehicles.
