It is generally accepted that the pressing priority of the governmnet to allocate the investment in terms of citizens’ well- being should be health education rather than on the treatment of those who are already in hospitals. I frimly contend that officials should focus more on preventative measures as people who at risk of the development various illnesses because of lack knowledge are far more ,compared to those who have already developed them.
It is widely acknowledged by significant number of scientist in medical sphere that preventive nature drammatically reduces the disease occurrence. Indeed, health education often leaves an enduring impact on people’s lives, by enhancing the awareness of the risks associated with the various numbers of health issues. Assuming the responsibility, government should support campaigns, by passing a law informing every single individual that they are responsible for their choices whether these preference relates to the daily intake or physical activity. Clear case would be the latest campaign when manufacturers began producing the cigarrete boxes with the images of people suffering from lung cancer and various illnesses resulted from active smoking. Consequently, these portrayed visuals could significantly boost people’s awareness of detrimental long- term effect that may destroy their bright future life. Therefore, governmental funding of a such campaigns might mitigate later health issues, unless people are reluctant of their well-being.
While implementing afore mentioned health educational project can serve a point, it could simultenously hinder the need of financial support fot treating patients who have already developed such illnesses. In some occasions people are born with certain deaseses or they have been suffering from chronic illnesses for a long time, in such cases government should invest funds to cure those citizens as these medical conditions demand greater financial investment for which citizens himself or herself are incapable to cover. However, from medical standpoint, investing on preventative measures would make more sense as the number of people suffering from chronic disease are not as immeasurable as those who are at risk of developing some dieseases. Thus, officials should invest some funds for treating citizens with chronic diseases that have been procrastinating for several years but when it comes to preventing those illnesses, authorities have to take measures regardless of any thing as their numbers are colossal.
To conclude, although treating patients is inspensable part of medecine, particularly in terms of people with chronic conditions, the risk of developing such illnesses is tend to be significant enough. Ultimately, I assert that health education has to be the main priority of the officials, as in comparison the number of those citizens are immense.
