It is commonly believed that parents have an important part in disciplining their children, however, others thought that it is even more important to look after them and provide a safe space as they grew up. In my opinion, I believe that both should be given to children, as they tend to look up to their parents for guidance while also rely on them as a place they go home to.
On the one hand, parents are frequently seen as role models by their children, the person which they look up to and some even wish to become like their parents when they grow up. In other words, it is crucial for parents to teach their children about moral sense, since parents are their “first teachers”. Even though this is important, disciplining is not the only thing that the parents should consider.
It is also argued that parents should be the safe space and being the shoulder to cry on. Instead of always controlling and questioning their choices and actions, parents should act as the children’s main mental support by supporting their decisions, encouraging growth, and development. Parents should look after the children with care so that they can grow well, whether physically and mentally.
In conclusion, parents held an important role in every child’s growth. Hence, all parents should become a place that brings the sense of comfort for their children, while at the same time teaching them about life principles.
