In the current education system student’s attention and energy is scattered because they learn many subjects. This has led some people to sugest concentrating their studies on topics they are already good at while others believe all the fields need to be covered, and I agree with this statement.
Teaching puipls to focus on a single subject, that they are interested in, will enable them to put all their effort and energy into it. This is because it minimizes the distraction that comes from trying to juggle several deciplines, and they will have more resources they can allocate to a single goal. For instance, teenagers that focus on biology will have more time to study it. As a result, they will have a deeper understanding of the subject, instade of acquiring a surface level knowledge of all the subjects they are not interested in.
On the other hand, by putting all their eggs in one basket, students could lose the ability to diversify their knowledge. The main reason school teaches all the subjects is to give students all the information they need before choosing the field they want to specialize in, and teenagers in highschool lack that insight to make a decision. Furthermore, concentrating on one topic will make it hard for them to switch fields if they need to.
In conclusion, while I believe consentrating on a single study will allow puipls to have a better understanding of it, I think learning all of them will give students flexableity and widder understanding of their options.
