Some individuals are of the opinion that traveling is the best way to learn about various cultures, while others argue that we can learn cultures through books, movies, and the internet. I do not agree with this supporters’ perspective for some grounds, and I explain them in the forthcoming paragraphs.
Admittedly, those who support the idea of that knowledge about the different cultures is effortless to obtain through books and the internet. The first and foremost reason behind it is if individuals who lack financial resources to travel but are eager to gain cultural knowledge, books, and the internet to serve as a practical alternative. Therefore, it is not so difficult to notice why the people who advocate the opinion of the learned cultures through the internet are too true in their respects.
However, despite the advantage of obtaining cultural knowledge through books, movies, and the internet, I utterly believe that traveling remains the most effective way to understand and experience different cultures.
Firstly, while traveling to another country, you may immerse yourself in the daily life of local people and stay there for two or three days. Even a short period of two or three days can allow you to experience the country’s lifestyle. Moreover, they can attend performances such as festivals, ceremonies, and carnivals. They develop a strong emotional communication with the people.
In conclusion, books, movies, and the internet serve as a practical alternative, but it cannot allude to the immersive experience that traveling provides.
