In today’s world, watching sports has become common, and it is considered by some as a waste of time. Although it may be interesting or useful for keeping in touch with others, I personally believe that doing that activity and leaving other duties undone is not worthwhile, and it can adversely affect children.
On the one hand, most watch sports after a working day or in the evenings. Take, for example, watching football; it seems therapeutic for them to watch, as those people watch it to have fun. Particularly, after a day’s work, coming home tired, and with the intention of releasing the strains of a whole day, watching sports tends to be found appealing. Another possible reason can be the purpose of keeping in touch with others whom they have not met for a while. In this situation, with time passing, watching sports might be worthwhile in order to reinforce the relationship between people.
On the other hand, it takes 90 plus minutes to watch a football game, or even other games. I consider this engagement a waste of time, as many may leave their duties and tasks undone, procrastinating them to another day. Such leisure activity might lead to disorders in these people’s lives if individuals keep doing it. From a child’s perspective, if they start to watch sports and keep going, this waste of time could be detrimental to their health and development. In order to watch sports programs, they may leave their homework and tasks that teachers and parents give them, which are highly useful for children’s futures. Furthermore, as long as they watch sports in the evenings, it adversely influences their productivity and makes them exhausted throughout the next day.
In conclusion, while individuals may feel better after watching sports, and it helps them keep in touch with others, those people, via watching these sports programs, tend to leave their necessary tasks undone, and children may embrace detrimental effects—exhaustion and a lack of productivity.
