There are many people who travel around the world, and it is often argued that they should adapt to the cultures of the countries they visit. By adapting to local cultures, people can better understand the lifestyle of local citizens. However, I strongly disagree with this opinion.
One of the main advantages of learning about another culture is that travelers can understand local traditions and behavior more easily. People who travel may not understand certain gestures or customs used by local people. For example, in Uzbekistan, placing a hand on the chest is a respectful gesture that can mean greeting or gratitude. Learning such cultural differences can help tourists communicate better and avoid misunderstandings.
However, learning customs and traditions can be difficult because it requires a lot of time and effort. Many travelers do not want to spend their holidays studying another country’s culture in detail. For instance, tourists who try to learn everything before traveling may spend too much time preparing instead of relaxing and enjoying their vacation.
In conclusion, although learning about local cultures can help individuals understand citizens and their lifestyle better, it can take too much time for tourists to fully learn customs and traditions. Moreover, travelers can simply hire a guide who can explain local customs and show them the most popular and attractive places to visit.
