Some people believe that the most effective method is living and working in a country where it is spoken. Listening and speaking around the clock a new language gives you a full immersion about pronunciation, idioms, regional accents and culture nuances. These features can’t be learnt through a traditional classroom and you are forced to understand what colleagues or friends say you. This approach allows learns to make experience in natural context with opportunities to practice speaking, listening and understanding every moment.
On the other hand, others believe that technology permit to study a new language without moving in another country. In fact, the technological advancement has several tools that give us the opportunity to reach a high level. Now it is easier to practise a language thanks to videos, interactive exercises and online platforms. This method is chipper than an abroad stay because you can have a conversation with native person without leaving your home. If you have a computer and Internet connection, you have so many opportunities and tools.
I admit I would like to live abroad because it isn’t only an opportunity to improve my knowledge, but it is also a challenge for me. Securely, an abroad experience makes me more self-confidence. The use of technology is fundamental for me because I can’t afford to live abroad and in spite of it, I manage to study it. Probably the use of both methods is the key for a successful result.
