Cultural entertainment activities such as music, art have existed for a long time. They play a vital role in mental health of citizens. Consequently, the government has invested in them to preserve the ancient culture. However, in recent years, many opinions say that they are waste of money and effort. I will discuss both views and state my own opinion in this essay.
To begin with, one of the main reasons why the government should invest money in music, art or theater because they are indispensable part of a country, through which culture, history and people can be clearly expressed. In addition, they also support economic growth. For instance, VN is a nation from Asia which attract a huge amount of tourist to visit every year. Thanks to promotion about cultural, art with antique beauty. Tourism become to improve rapidly, stimulate local economies, residents in area have good jobs. Thereby leading to increased domestic GDP and the economy developing stronger.
From another standpoint, government funds on cultural activities are unnecessary, they are considered wasteful. There are countless urgent problems in a nation that need to be resolved soon. For example, traffic system in some outskirts of VietNam is upgrade, cause numerous accidents everyday hence government need to deliberate on this field. Moreover, poverty and lack of education still exist and burden our life. The question is should we invest in art or music first? Therefore, the painful social problems need to be put on agenda, rather than sponsoring entertainment.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that cultural activities are essential for life. They enhance a sense of community and mental health. Beside, contributing charming image with other countries. However, the government should concern about citizens’s standard living more. There are several problem such as education, environment should be put to the forefront.
