There are those who believe that the government should provide funding for healthcare and education. Conversely, others are of the opinion that individuals take responsibility for these services. There is indeed a strong case to be made for both sides of the debate, which will be discussed now. My opinion is in stark contrast to the latter one, and in this essay, my argument will be proved by examining the convincing reasons listed below.
Granted one might argue that healthcare and education are personal responsibilities. This viewpoint is supported by the fact that the different groups of income contribute different levels of taxes to the government, leading to disparities in the amount of government funding for healthcare and educational quality. As a result, it may be unfair to provide the same levels of service to all citizens, regardless of their tax contributions. A further conceivable reason for the existence of this idea could be that people would be more serious about taking care of themselves by paying their own fees.
On the other hand, I am of the opinion that the responsibility of paying for healthcare and educational costs belongs to the government. This is predicated on the assumption that this policy is a fundamental human right. This can be demonstrated in the case that each individual has to pay a variety of tax such as income taxes, property taxes and value-added taxes, which can strongly support the government in promoting societal welfare. By implementing policies that subsidize or provide free access to healthcare and educational programs, the government can alleviate the financial strain on its citizens, especially those from low-income backgrounds. For instance, in countries with universal healthcare systems, individuals report improved health outcomes and reduced financial stress, which illustrates the positive impact of government intervention in these sectors.
In conclusion, although some people think that government-funded health care and education is unnecessary, I personally believe that this policy is compulsory in order to decrease financial burden for citizens.
