The cost of health care and education is getting higher and higher which makes many people think that the government should pay for them. However, many others argue that it is not their responsibility to pay the cost for each citizen. In this essay, I will discuss both sides and finally opine my viewpoint.
To begin with, some people deem that if the citizens pay high tax for the government, they totally have the right to require free education and healthcare service. For instance, when the tax accounts for nearly or half of people’s income, there is also less money spent on other fields such as: electric bills, transportation fees, etc. Hence, the government should be responsible for the tuition fee and healthcare service if its citizens pay high taxes. Moreover, when the government cares for the cost of health and education, people in that country also feel satisfied with their well-beings. This could lead to a prospect of people living in harmony with others and improve the life quality in that nation.
On the other hand, some people still argue that it is not the responsibility of the givernment to pay for health care and education. It is clearly seen that there are many more problems that the government have to solve before they spend that sum of money on health and education. To be specific, the environments in some countries are being heavily contaminated, which neccesitates the government’s focus and money. However, this point is not sound as the goverment has to balance the money they receive to solve and invest in different criteria, which also include healthcare and education. Hence, these received money should be used smartly so as to ensure the life’s quality of many people.
In conclusion, though the education and healthcare service cannot totally be free in some countries, the government still has the responsibility to provide subsidies for its citizens in order to improve the life’s quality of many people.
