Throughout history the idea of government healthcare regulation has been suggested and denied hundreds of times. Certain communities still believe that they are able to find best ways to maintain their health on their own, controversially the majority tend to provide the right for the government to find the best way to treat them. Personally, I am convinced that the authorities have to regulate public healthcare.
To begin with, the general healthcare regulation improves citizen’s health by providing health check-ups and sport activities. Additionally, the investment in sport facilities such as football fields or basketball courts might not only help maintain moderate health conditions, but potentially receive worldwide fame and international rewards in competitions such as Olympics games. Besides fame, it also declines the odds for death from illness and prevents huge pandemies from repeating by providing regular obligatory vaccinations and the required treatment if needed.
Secondly, the discussions about inaccurate advertising in the media has been argued for a long period of time. As study shows, individuals who have been influenced by incorrect advertising tend to go through tougher therapies compared to those who choose to appeal to the doctor. Furthermore, in fact, unhealthy lifestyle in many cases leads to chronic diseases. In order to avoid that, the government introduces special fitness and diet programs to attract a healthy lifestyle and decrease junk food consumption.
In contrast, certain communities believe in the idea that the government wants to control each part of our routine. In other words, they follow the trend that if the authorities will control what we eat, they might eventually control every aspect of our life. Moreover, if the person is aware of possible risks and consequences of poor diet or self-treatment they should be allowed to take those risks.
Taking these points into consideration, I fully understand different points of views related to this particular topic. Although there are still groups of people against public healthcare, I strongly believe that the government has the right to regulate it.
