In modern life, people have different opinions about whether we are more or less dependent on each other. In my point of view, it depends on the specific situation, but I do believe that people are becoming more independent. The essays will discuss both perspectives.
There are many aspects that give us the view of independence. In terms of the economy, we cannot deny that globalization creates a great opportunity for employees to search for job positions independently. For example, people tend to look for open jobs through work forums without reliance on headhunt agencies. As a result, individuals can get flexible work arrangements and widen their job opportunities. Besides, thanks to the support of digital technologies, people can access information by themselves using artificial intelligence tools (Google/Chat GPT), which reduces reliance on traditional education.
However, we understand that life is more complex and difficult, it is hard for people to live without any support from each other. To begin, in most families, children depend on their parents to pay the allowance or tuition fee. Additionally, in the context of modern life, the cost of living has increased dramatically, especially real estate prices. Young adults still need parent’s support for rent payments or deposit of house buying. Furthermore, in case young couples have full-time jobs, they also rely on grandparents for their child care.
In conclusion, it can be avoidable that we still need help from people surrounding us when we are living in society. Despite that, I suppose that the capacity of solving problems by themselves can make people become more independent.
