Technology is progressing at an exponential pace, and this makes it very difficult to predict what the schools and the teacher-taught relation of 2050 will be like. I agree that the trend of education in the future would be very progressive and technology driven.
There are many ways in which education in the future would be different. Firstly, because of technology learning will be able to happen anytime and anywhere and the classroom will be a place for putting the knowledge to practical use. The teachers would record content for the students to learn at their own pace and students would come to the classroom already possessing basic knowledge. In other words, the classroom will not be a place for learning new Information but rather for applying the knowledge learnt to solve problems.
Secondly, teachers will become facilitators of knowledge and no longer the experts, because of the rapid and constant changes to information that can be found. For example, it is said that half of what engineering students learn in their first year is obsolete or revised by the time they graduate. The teacher will still guide students through learning, but it will be impossible for teachers to have all the knowledge.
Finally, students will also be able to make choices in how they learn the content. Learning will be based on individual interest and need. It will be student-centric, and not teacher-oriented. Education will also be more holistic and real-world oriented. For example, a lesson on Indian freedom struggle would not only be about learning history and geography but also learning about the importance of rights and appreciation of liberties the society enjoys today.
To sum up, I belleve there will be vast changes in education in the next 30 years and not only would it be more technology driven but also more holistic and student oriented.
