Some people believe that university education should be free for everyone, while others think that students should pay for their studies. This essay will discuss both views and give my own opinion.
On the one hand, people who support free university education argue that it creates equal opportunities. When education is free, students from low-income families can study at university without financial pressure. This can help reduce social inequality and allow more people to get better jobs in the future.
On the other hand, those who believe students should pay for university point out that higher education is expensive. Universities need money to pay teachers, improve facilities, and support research. If the government pays for everything, the quality of education may decrease. In addition, paying tuition fees can motivate students to take their studies seriously.
In my opinion, completely free university education is not always practical. A better solution is for governments to support students who cannot afford tuition fees, while other students pay part of the cost.
In conclusion, although free university education has clear advantages, sharing the cost between students and the government is a more realistic approach.
