While some people expect governments to pour money into searching for life on other planets, others reckon they had better focus on several issues that need solving on our Earth. From my perspective, I approve of the latter statement and I will analyze both views in this essay.
On the one hand, some people believe that governments should invest in finding life on other stars due to overpopulation. As the number of citizens is getting more crowded, life will be more difficult when people have to tackle the shortage of space, energy, and even food. When those on Earth are on the verge of exhaustion, humans have to find another way to exist. Moreover, discovering outer space could help people broaden their knowledge as well as contribute to the field of science in general and astronomy in particular. For instance, studying geology and the habitability of the environment on other planets might be a valuable resource for scientists to understand the universe, leading to further ideas and research for upcoming life.
On the other hand, others stand up to the point that life on other planets is useless and consuming owing to the inhabitable conditions of other planets. Earth provides us perfect conditions for living and there’s not much other planet like that up to now. To illustrate, people receive soil, water, oxygen, etc from Earth, which other stars like Mars or Venus could hardly do. Additionally, pollution and several environmental issues in our place are more and more alarming than ever before. This is a reminder that humans have to take action immediately to save the Earth, otherwise, it could not be back to the original. When all these tasks are done, people can live peacefully on Earth without any danger.
In conclusion, mankind ought to handle all problems on Earth instead of making efforts to be in search of other life on account of the advantages that our planet could bring to us. When the environment is clean, we do not need to expect any other stars to live in.
