Today, the Earth is facing extreme changes and people want the government to research for other planets to live in. However, others think that the pool of money for such investigation is worthless as the money is better use to solve the current issue on Earth. In this essay, I will discuss both views with relevant examples.
Firstly, the government should look into other planets that can support life because the Earth situation will no longer be ideal for living things in the next few decades due to the extreme pollution and natural disasters. For example, Japan had a city downfall in 2010 as an earthquake hit the city and caused many lives to be lost. In addition, the World Air Association reported that by 2035, people had to wear masks whenever they go out as the air index will hit an extremely unhealthy level as a result of constant release of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide gases. Thus, the government need to search for other planets as an alternative for people to live in.
On the contrary, instead of searching for other planets, environmental issues that contribute to the dire state of the Earth can be rectified with the right strategies. For instance, the bad quality of air is mainly caused by the released of gasses from rising number of vehicles on the road so the government should invest in improving public transportation such as shorter waiting time, increasing the number of seats, more frequent trains and better air conditioning in order for people to rely less on private vehicles. Beside that, people can be more aware and prepare for natural disasters if the government invest in radar technology that can notify the citizens about any upcoming natural hazard including hurricanes and typhoons. Therefore, pollution and natural disasters on Earth can be reduced with proper planning
In conclusion, while searching for other planets can benefit people to have a better living condition, the current situation on Earth can be resolved with the right approach. Thus, the government should implement a sustainable solution to sustain the living environment for future generations.
