It is believed that prisoners can become a better person after their punishment period is over, however, some people let these citizens talk to their teenagers. I completely agree with the idea that they are the best people to demotivate the children by telling their experiences of breaking the law.
On one hand, the first one to teach teenagers about the crimes and their outcomes are their parents, Students are not more influenced by their parents and never listens to them. They think that their parents are making pressure on them and not giving them freedom. For instance, 80% of adolescents do not listen to their parents. Secondly, police officers must organise a campaign in the schools educating the students about law and lawbreakers. However, This could be useful in terms of informing teens what happens to criminals when they are caught, but young people often neglect the advice from figures of high authority.
On other hand, teenagers are more likely to listen to some random person who has certain experience. Additionally, They are more likely to accept the advice from a previously accused criminal. For example, they can tell young people about how they involved in crime, what was the life in prison and dangers of involving in criminal world. Moreover, adolescents are often keen to hear the stories of Ex-prisoners, shocking them with the strange nature and more likely to make a powerful impact on them.
In conclusion, though parents and police officials are on the positive side, offenders have suffered a lot of struggle for committing a crime and i think they could help the teenagers to stay away from the criminal world.
