Traveling to new places and experiencing new things has been enjoyed by quite a lot of people these days. Although some individuals would prefer going on trips with friends or family, other people are inclined on going on a solo journey.
Going on a trip with companions can be beneficial and exciting. More importantly, it can cut travel costs, because everyone will have to share for the entire travel expenses, such as fees on accommodation, tours, and especially on food and beverages. Ultimately this will lead to having more money set aside for other leisure activities such as shopping. Additionally, being in a group while traveling makes it a safer experience for everyone. It will be difficult to be scammed or harassed because everyone will be accountable with one another’s safety, especially from the horrors of trafficking, money scams, and kidnapping that sometimes happen especially to unsuspecting tourists. Knowing that one is safe in a group makes the travel more enjoyable and enriching experience for everyone.
On the other hand, going on a trip alone offers freedom and flexibility especially in creating the type of journey that is customized according to one’s preference. All the schedules, tours, and flights can be made how ever one wants it, and it makes the planning stage easy because once doesn’t have to adjust with another person’s choice or schedule. It can eliminate conflicts during a trip especially on choosing itineraries, food and accommodation. Being in-charged on one’s particular voyage will result to an experience that is carefully tailored to one’s taste. Moreover, a solo trip can be an avenue for personal growth because it is a way of going out beyond one’s comfort zone. Exploring new things and places alone such as hiking, meeting new people, tasting cuisines and immersing in new cultures and traditions can widen one’s horizon and perspective, ultimately promoting independence and self-reliance.
In summary, traveling is indeed a privilege because whether you do it with others or alone, both options can lead to an enriching experience. However, I believe that going on an adventure with friends or loved ones is still a better option for me, as it makes the whole experience cost-effective and safer.
