Many people believe that at the primary level, music, art and drama have the same importance level as other school subjects. There are two opinions that will be discussed in this essay, while the essay support the idea.
Schools play a very important role in raising the students and introduce them to different fields of life, which they can choose what interests them and want to learn more about afterwards in their lives. Some people support the idea of not wasting students time with unimportant subjects like art and music, and they believe that students should be just for the basic science subjects like Math and Physics. For instance, my primary school was applying this methodology. The teachers didn’t allow us to take our art and music sections and they preferred to replace it with other school subjects which they see more important for us, while our parents did not refuse.
Other individuals, on the other hand, think that music and different art subjects are not less important than the other school subjects. This essay supports this idea because schools should open students’ eyes on different sides of the world. Moreover, learning art makes people more calm and connected with the nature, it allows the one to taste and capture the good details in the world around them, and decrease the probability of them being violent or aggressive. For example, in my college, students who are interested in art and have some art-based hobbies doesn’t make troubles or fight with others comparing with students who hates arts.
In conclusion, I strongly support the suggestion that music, art and drama are as important as other school subjects because students should be introduced to various types of sciences and let them choose what they like. In addition, I believe that learning arts makes people more connected with themselves and with the nature, and less close to make troubles in their communities.
