Some school leavers choose travelling or working for a short period of time instead of entering high education immediately. In my opinion, it is more likely beneficial rather than a drawback due to the fact that it boosts their future learning.
Firstly, the considerable advantages of this trend is gaining valuable experience. Nowadays, many teenagers are leaving school without clear targets or not enough maturity. So that, travelling can help them to meet with a greater number of individuals with different behaviors, which might shape particular interests and some kind of awareness about humanity. For example, a student who travels after finishing school could develop communication skills and interest in foreign languages.
Secondly, graduates who decided to deal with work before university are capable of experiencing minor difficulties in early ages. There are several requirements in any companies for their staff such as having critical thinking, analyzing data or being patient every time. In this case, youths are able to develop their personality and to find out suitable types of occupation for them. For instance, a teenager who before getting high education can face with conflict with colleagues or challenges. As a result, school leaver may learn how to solve disagreements, to interact with each people and finally to identify what subjects to study.
Nevertheless, I believe that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The maturity, communication skills and clear goals gained during this period usually support students perform better in higher education.
