We live in an age where many of us opine that televisions may be beneficial for children’s growth and educational instituitions should use them. Indisputably, televisions are very appealing to the naked eye. Nevertheless, they are very addictive and might generate unhealthy habits. Thus, I generally disagree with the opinion that it should be used televisions to educate children. I will support this view with arguments in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, researches say that televisions are one of the main sources of health diseases in the contemporary world. Children who spend an enormous amount of hours in front of the screen tend to be more sedentary, and due to this they might become obese. In addition, young people that are overweight, normally, suffer from bullying at school and owning to this, they might end up damaging their psycological health too. I would also like to point out that a huge number of vision problems are a result of large quantaties of screen time.
On the other hand, televisions are very attractive to children and they probably increase their levels of focus. Nowadays, is very complicated for a teacher to capture children’s attention, nontheless a professional and dedicated teacher can reach the kids the same way a television does without jeopardizing their health and their habits. To illustrate, in some schools teacher use more pratical ways of teaching instead of theoretical ones.
In culmination, I wholeheartedly believe that televisions must not be used as a method to educate and instead teachers should adopt alternative tactics to make their lessons more captivating, buttressed by all the arguments in this essay.
