The phenomenon of young people leaving their home countries in search of better opportunities or lifestyles abroad has become increasingly prevalent in many parts of the world. However, this leads a country to abnormal age category because old people are being left behind in the country and this problem can be posed by the help of a government.
First of all, one of the primary issue that raises from this problem is the decrease of a need for new, young labor demand. Each passing day a new technology is emerging and old generation are having difficulties to understand and manage it and without the help of new generation this can degrade the status of a country. Therefore, many factors can face with difficulties with force labor and these would lead to economic depression. Another factor to mention is that many old people live in suburb eras by their children but after migration of their children old people are left alone with no one to take care of them. Thus, goverment should take of old generation and set aside money for their health problems and sending nurses to take care of them and improve infrastructures like health centres and hospitals. Finally, older people may suffer from psychiatric disorders. This population usually tend to spend time with their family and rely on them and in fact, they are tied to younger people. If young members of their family move to cities, they would not cope with the feelings of loneliness and get mentally ill.
To address these challenges, government should improve the conditions of the government in order to pursue youth to stay in their own country. This should involve better job opportunities, high salary and good environment. In addition, there should be some ground rules for students who should return to their homeland after student load programs. The government should take responsibility and start funding projects and encouraging investments in those areas so young adults won’t have to leave to secure a job and elderly people would be close to their children that take care of them.
In conclusion, while youth migration poses significant challenges for countries of origin, by addressing the root causes of migration, creating opportunities, improving living conditions governments can harness the potential of their youth populations and foster sustainable development for generations to come.
