It is true that the habit of managing finance from an early age is an essential skill for children to have. While I accept that spending your money wisely is the most important skill, I believe that people should learn to earn more as opposed to save it.
I think that teaching our children to manage their finance wisely is the most important monetary skill. Parents should teach them how to track their spendings wisely by giving them X amount of money for Y amount of time, and ask them where they have spent this money in detail. I strongly believe that, it is the best method, which makes them more financially intelligent. For example, when I started to go to primary school, my parents gave me 5,000 sums for a week, and at weekends I reported where and how much money I have spent in this week. I think, this method will help children to become more financially independent and intelligent.
I disagree with the idea of saving money, since there are a lot of opportunities to earn more. In my opinion, saving money makes children more dependent on money in the future; they would think if I do not save money I cannot afford what I wanted. Instead, parents should encourage their children to find out more alternative ideas in order make more money. For instance, if parents teach their children to save money from an early age, they will waste their lives only by saving their monthly salaries; they will not have opportunities to make their dream come true. In this context, I would encourage parents to teach their children to earn more, in lieu of saving it.
In conclusion, I agree that spending money wisely is the most important financial skill, but I believe finding more ways in order to earn more is way better than saving more.
