Band 4+: students focus on video games rather then sports. problems and solutions

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

These days, video games are gaining popularity day by day especially in students. Some students play video games instead of focusing on physical activities. It is mostly because of addiction to video games and no early exposure of sports, yet it can be solved by putting restrictions and to start playing sports. This essay will discuss the problems caused by solely focusing on computer games and its solution.

First reason, addiction of video games can lead to various issues which also includes not doing any other activities. Video games are made in a way to make its player addicted, so the companies can get more profit from it. For example, a survey was done on people who played games rarely and the 80% of the participants admitted addiction to a game called Minecraft. Students are now becoming more and more addicted to these games which is detrimental to both their physical and mental health.

Another reason, a child will play sports if he is playing sports from the start. Nowadays, the trend of playing outside is going down because of no introduction to such activities in the childhood. Although it is the fault of parents, they give their children mobile phones or computers early on.

Addiction of video games can be cured by cutting it gradually. For example, if someone played video games for 8 hour for one day then he should try to spend 7 hour playing video games. That is how addictions are cured and it is a very effective method. Parents should try to encourage children to play different kind of outdoor games like cricket, hockey from early on.

To sum up, students spend more time on video games then actual games because of its addiction and not playing sports. There are different methods to overcome this problem like putting restrictions on playing and introducing outdoor activites.
