These days it is believed that the teachers are the main resource for the students in schools and universities to learn from in comparison to the other ways namely digital medias and library. I partly disagree with the statement because I think some students are better at learning by themselves and are able to grasp more from visual learning.
On the one hand, I accept that teachers are the primary source to get knowledge from because they have massive experience and expertise in the subject they are teaching. They guide students and assist them in comprehending complex concepts which students might struggle with in understanding. Students are able to get hands-on experience from physical education as well as by performing practical work in the supervision of the teachers which give them a glimpse of professional life and prepare them for it. So, I think teachers contribute majorly in the knowledge that students gain throughout their student life.
However, there are some students who are more inclined towards self-study because they are not able to match the pace, the teachers are going with. Such students struggle in keeping up with the class and feel behind so they find other resources of study such as internet and library. Moreover, they are a number of students who find it difficult to grasp intricate processes and concepts just by listening so they prefer to learn it from something involving visual graphics. For instance, they are several online channels one of them is lecturio, for medical students, which break down difficult concepts into chunks and describe them visually with animations and graphics, making it convenient to memorize.
In conclusion, despite teachers being the most vital source for getting knowledge, I believe that some students find other means of studying more useful.
