Good morning, teachers, classmates and parents. Today in my Copol talk, I’m going to talk about the history of my dad. He has taught me through his example that we have to work hard to move forward. His story was not easy, but it shows that patience and hard work can lead to great achievements. Throughout his life, he has faced good and bad moments, but he never gave up. That is what I admire most about him, but before we begin, my dad’s name is Eduardo Herrera and he was born on September 20, 1983, and is currently 42 years old. And to have his own business, he had to overcome several difficult moments.
At the beginning, my dad worked in a casino. At the casino, my dad monitored the security cameras to make sure everything was okay. It was his main source of income. However, there came a time when casinos closed, and he was left without a job for a while. I think it was one of the most difficult stages he went through, but even so, he did not lose hope or the desire to look for new opportunities. After that difficult moment, he got a job at the airport of Guayaquil. My dad worked at the security checkpoints, making sure that no illegal items were brought onto the plane. After working at the airport, my dad worked as a car salesman at Induauto. He started from the bottom, learning little by little about buying and selling cars. Over time, he gained experience and improved his skills until he reached 10 years of experience in that field. Thanks to this, he would be ready, prepared, and confident enough to take the next step in his life. With all that experience, my dad made an important decision: he quit Induauto to start his own car buying and selling business, EH Motors. It was not an easy decision because it involved risks, but he trusted everything he had learned. Thanks to his effort and dedication, he managed to grow his business and keep moving forward.
In short, my father’s story demonstrates that even in difficult times, you should never give up. There are always opportunities if you keep trying and learning. What I want to convey through my dad’s story is that we must always strive and work hard to achieve our goals. His life teaches me that we must fight for our objectives, regardless of the obstacles we encounter along the way.
