Around the globe with falling economy some groups wants to make educational institutes free for students on the other hand others opposes that idea. While from my experience I’m more in favor of free education which has its own pros and cons.
To begin, we all are experiencing the recession as its no longer limited to any specific country or a region but spread like a fire around the world, where everyone is trying to save money as much as possible and still facing hard time. I know the struggle to manage education in these crisis era because I am a student myself, I understand the idea of free education is beneficial which leads to higher literacy rate because we all know many who cannot take education because of expensive schools.
In Addition, Free education is necessary and right of every citizen which is not only limited to the interest of public, even government benefits from it as well as it’s linked with many industries which provides for the country and it’s government and education saves many other liabilities which governments are bearing because of uneducated people, like monthly stipends for unemployed, expense of homeless or criminals who didn’t found right way to earn and ended in prison which is a liability for governments.
On the other hand, who don’t want education to be free of cost believes that people don’t take anything serious until they pay for it, for example if there’s an online free portal where lectures are free and another platform in paid, most of the people will turn their back to free course and choose paid one as they believe it has value that’s why it’s paid not free and it’s an psychological behavior which can’t be change easily.
To summarize, providing free education overweighs when we compare it with paid institutes, free education should be continue and encourage people to get educate.
