Band 8+: Task 2: a problem-solution essay Problem of accommodation shortage (among university students)

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The shortage of accommodation for university students has become a growing issue in Vietnam, especially in large cities where many universities are located. This problem has significantly affected students’ well-being and academic performance, and it requires immediate attention.

One of the main issues is the overwhelming demand for student housing, which often outstrips supply. As a result, many students are forced to either live in overcrowded dormitories or rent expensive private accommodations. This scarcity not only causes financial strain but also leads to uncomfortable living conditions that hinder students’ concentration and productivity. For instance, in Hanoi, a city with a large student population, many university students have to commute long distances or share cramped spaces, which affects their quality of life and academic focus.

A potential solution to this problem is for universities to collaborate with local authorities and private companies to build more affordable student housing. By expanding dormitory facilities and creating partnerships with developers to construct affordable apartments specifically for students, the accommodation shortage could be alleviated. Such initiatives would help reduce financial burdens and improve students’ living conditions. For example, the University of Danang has already begun building additional dormitories to meet the needs of its growing student body.

In conclusion, the accommodation shortage for university students in Vietnam is a pressing issue that affects students’ academic and personal lives. Implementing strategies such as increased collaboration between universities and developers could provide long-term relief. It is essential that more action is taken to ensure students have access to affordable and comfortable housing.

A numbers of individuals believe that new houses should follow the old houses style in local areas. While others argue that people can have freedom to built houses how they want. I will discuss both sides and give my own opimion in essay below. On one hand, old style buildings help to save our culture […]

It is a natural process for animal species to become extinct ( e.g dinosours, dodos, etc. ) There is no reason why people should try to prevent this from happening. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

The question of whether humans should intervene to prevent animal extinction has sparked considerable debate, with some arguing that species disappearance is simply nature’s course and therefore requires no human interference. I partly agree with this viewpoint, as extinction has indeed occurred throughout natural history without human involvement. However, I am more convinced that this […]

In some countries, even though the rates of serious crimes are decreasing, people feel less safe than ever before. What do you think are the causes of this problem and what measures could be taken to solve it?

People in some countries feel less safe than ever before, even though the number of serious crimes has fallen. I believe this is mainly because social media spreads fear and many people are unaware of the true crime rates. To solve this problem, misleading online content should be controlled and governments should publish accurate crime […]

00:26:18 Part 1 You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic: In many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer holidays. What is the value of long school holidays? What are the arguments in favour of shorter school holidays?

In many parts of the world, summer holidays last for at least two months for primary and secondary students. While these extended breaks have evident benefits for children’s well-being, there are strong arguments to prioritize learning over long holidays. On the one hand, long school holidays have valuable impacts on teenagers’ mental and physical health. […]

Some people think that older school children should learn a wide range of subjects and develop knowledge. But other people think that they should only learn a small number of subjects in detail. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, whether high school students should study various subjects or a small number of subjects in detail is a controversial topic. While some people argue that older school children ought to learn a wide range of subjects, I side with others who consider studying only a small number of subjects in depth to be a […]

Some people believe that environmental issues should be solved by government while others think individuals must take more responsibility.

There exists a profound divergence of opinion regarding whether the onus of environmental conservation should fall square upon state authorities or remain an individual obligation. While grassroots initiatives and personal choices undoubtedly contribute to ecological preservation, I resolutely maintain that governments must assume primary accountability, given their unique capacity to enforce statutory legislation and capitalize […]
