Many are of the opinion that elected authorities must pay close attention to issues regarding shelter and ecosystem pollution in order to keep people healthy. While it is true that issues relating to housing and pollution pertinently relate to health outcomes, there are better ways of mitigating certain sicknesses from targeting the human population.

If the government were to invest resources towards environmental issues, people may shift their concern towards just that issue. In today’s world, it is difficult for governments to allocate the proper funds for multi-tasked committees. As an example, the Persian government, in 2021, used tax-payer money to deal with school-system issues as well as higher education tuition relief, however, their became such a high focus on the younger students, that those who were older were left with having to figure out their own financial situation. In order for government sponsored efforts to be successful, there needs to be one sole focus in mind.

Many signs of symptoms of poor health stem from issues with ecosystems as well as with housing, or lack thereof. People living in areas with poor air quality, or those without proper dwelling are susceptible to a myriad of immune system malfunctions. A survey done by the World Health Organization showed that pollution and homelessness were two major risk factors in people living with chronic health issues. Legislation must be put in place to address these pressing and interrelated issues, however, it must be done in a way that is organized and succinct.

Analyzing previous judicial efforts to improve multiple issues, it is clear that multi-tasking is a difficult job for governmental authorities to deal with. While correlations exist, it is necessary to remember that in order to solve an issue, it must be the sole focus. There are many proponents of the mindset that solving certain issues can have a positive effect on other issues, however, it is rarely possible in the context of today’s political society.
