It is believed that teachers are not as important to society as policemen. In my point of view, I partly agree with this statement due to the following reasons.
On the one hand, policemen play an essential role in maintaining law and order. The first reason is that their main responsibility is to protect citizens from crimes and respond to emergencies. People might not feel safe in their daily lives without policemen. As a result, they make a significant contribution to the community. The second reason is that police officers are responsible for directing trafic during rush hours, which reduces traffic jam and road accidents. In many large cities, traffic congestion is a serious problem, especially in the morning and evening when people travel to and from work. Police officers help control the flow of vehicles and reduce traffic jams, allowing people to reach their destinations more quickly and safely.
On the other hand, teachers are still crucial in educating people and preparing them for the future. First, They teach students the knowledge and skills that are necessary for life and work. There would be fewer skilled workers such as doctors, engineers, and even policemen without teachers. Therefore, society would not develop effectively. Second, teachers help children develop good behavior and values. It makes them become law- abiding and responsible citizens, contributing to the national economy and helping society prosper.
In conclusion, although policemen play a vital role in maintaining law and social stability, I would argue that teachers are equally crucial, because they educate future generations and contribute to the long-term development of society.
