In today’s world, most people claim that technology benefits teenagers to a great extent, while some argue that it creates negative impacts on their lives. It has advanced teenagers’ lives by providing access to academic sources as well as making them innovative. However, it also makes them prone to different cybercrimes and bullies and provides easy access to the dangerous websites. From my perspective, technology is beneficial to the teenagers if they use it properly, focusing on its positive sides.
To begin with, technology has multifarious benefits for teenagers. First and foremost, it gives them easy access to educational websites, which makes them familiar with new technologies and discoveries as well as different academic facts. In simple words, they can learn new things regarding different cultures, histories, geographic conditions, political issues and scientific discoveries from all around the world. Secondly, it makes them curious and innovative in nature by the use of these technologies. They tend to get inspired and motivated by the people from different parts of the countries observing their innovations. For instance, nowadays, teenagers are able to build the motor parts or the robots, learning from the use of different technologies like Google, ChatGPT and YouTube.
In contrast, it also creates different hazardous effects among the adults. They can get easy access to the dangerous websites like pornography and violent TV shows or websites. It creates a negative impact on their mental health, like hallucinations and narcissism, and impacts their cognitive function. Moreover, it makes them vulnerable to cyberbullying and cybercrimes. In simple words, they can learn about hacking and leaking the misinformation and other private photos as well. For instance, most of the students in the colleges are nowadays victims of cyberbullying by their friends after the advancement in technologies.
Thus, in my opinion, technology is advantageous for the adults if they utilise it properly and enough rules and regulations are made to control its negative sides. If the government makes and implements the cybersecurity laws and policies properly, there can be control in the negative impacts, like cyberbullying, cybercrime, easy access to dangerous sites. It can then create positive impacts among the users, and there can be more innovations and discoveries in the world. In addition, the government should also play important role in rewarding those users which motivates and inspires them to focus on its positive sides.
To conclude, there are both positive impacts, like access to educational sites, making the adults innovative and negative impacts such as, cybercrime and use of dangerous sites by the use of technologies. But in my opinion,if the government should play active role in implementing the policies and rules related to cybersecurity and rewarding the ones who make new innovations, technology can be advantageous among the teenagers encouraging its positive impacts.
